About NOPSSCEA

NOPSSCEA was founded by Bro. Rafael Donato, FSC, of La Salle College in 1980 through merging two sports organizations, the Negros Occidental Private Schools Athletic Association or the NOPRISAA and the Negros Occidental Collegiate Athletic Association or the NOCAA.

The primary purpose of the merger was to combine all the sports associations of the private schools in Negros Occidental. But it didn’t stop there. Later, NOPSSCEA felt the need to diversify to a more wholistic approach in its programs including educational and cultural activities. It inculcated the tradition of going beyond its league, for service, for the good of all.

With a great mission of commissioning itself to establish linkages among private schools and provide programs for development, NOPSSCEA envisions unity and growth among member schools towards excellence and leadership in education, culture and sports spanning from four levels of education, the pre-elementary, elementary, secondary and the collegiate levels. With all the grandeur, with all the contributions NOPSCCEA has, this prestigious organization started out small…

Starting from 8 member schools it has geared time and resources towards its vision of excellence. It has facilitated seminars and trainings for teachers and students alike in the fields of sports, education and the arts. NOPSSCEA member schools have produced highly regarded achievers such as Joel Torre, Kuh Ledesma, Eric Matti, and more. This only proves that going beyond sports, beyond their perennial scope, and expanding towards education and the arts paid up.

NOPSSCEA has started vigorously, grew stronger and stronger every year. Now, it stages events which every Negros Occidental athlete dreams of and trains to compete in. Now, NOPSSCEA parallels excellence…

Working towards its vision, with its Cultural, Educational, Sports, and the newly-organized Outreach Task Forces, NOPSSCEA continues to do its work in producing the next Joel Torre’s, the next Kuh Ledesma’s, the next greats.

Armed with a noble cause and with the inherent desire to go beyond its scope for the further development and good of all, NOPSSCEA goes the distance…again. But going beyond, giving so much more…means needing more to give… NOPSSCEA needs resources to go beyond its scope in the private schools and provide service to the public as well.

May they be in Sports, Education and in the Arts, no doubt NOPSSCEA had been and continues to be a great contributor to the success of Negros Occidental and of the Philippines as a whole. For twenty-nine years, NOPSSCEA indubitably geared its resources toward the holistic development of private school teachers, students and other school personnel. After twenty-nine years, NOPSSCEA would not stop here.

As they have before, as we have before…with everybody’s help, we can go beyond the bounds and step ahead to achieve more for a greater number of people.
